The End of An Era
As we all know now, this is to be Dennis's last season at Arsenal. Since his arrival in 1995 he has played almost 400 first team games and collected no less than three Premiership winners medals, as well as numerous other accolades. The guy is an absolute legend who will never be replaced.
When talking about our impending arrival at the Emirates Stadium he had this to say;
"Yes, there are some regrets that I will not be able to call this my home as an Arsenal player. But it's time to call it a day."
When Den finally hangs up his boots it will not only be a sad day for Gooners worldwide, but a sad day for football.
Remember guys, WE GOT DENNIS BERGKAMP!

I think Bergkamp is way past his best, and frankly I don´t think he´s been doing us a lot of favors by sticking around this year and last.
Face it, he´s in the starting XI in some big games still and is never up to it anymore. He just can´t cut it against top class defenders. Maybe that´s down to Wenger but Bergkamp just has to be realistic, this isn´t W.B.A., Arsenal is competing for top top honors..
However he is useful as a squad player and to help teach the young players.

yeah jobby, but the problem is that Bergkamp has always been Wenger´s first choice strike partner for Henry ( apart from a short spell when Reyes was given a chance ). And unless someone ( like RvP or Reyes ) is given an extended run in the team alongside Henry nobody will be able to form a real partnership with him.
It´s always a tough call when it´s a legend who´s getting cut from the team but in this case I think nobody can say his time hasn´t come.
