Hoyte to Join Cats
Hi people! No posts for the last few days because a) It was Bank Holiday weekend and I was on a bit of a sesh, and b) there has been F*CK ALL news!
Anyway, normal service has now resumed....!
Defender Justin Hoyte is set to join Sund*rland on a year long loan, with their Estonian keeper, Mart Poom coming to us.
Poom has a wealth of experience at international level, but has apparently broken off from international commitments to hold talks with us...
In other news Sol featured in a reserve game last night against Leicester, which the boys won 5-2.
Le Boss has insisted however that he is not going to rush Sol back too quickly.

£20M for Jenas is a piss-take! He is a decent enough player. But nowhere near 20million quids worth....fuck me you could pick up someone like Kaka for less than that!!!
If Mart 'ugly fuck' Poom is all weve got to look forward to then there surely is problems. We almost sign one of the best up and coming keepers in Viera, but then say no because of a medical 'problem' that isnt even a 'problem'. So who do we go for instead... A 33 year old, injury prone Estonian who has no european experience. Seriously WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?
So Spurs have furtehr enhanced their ridiculously large squad by signing Jermaine Jenas for around £8 million. You have to say they are doing good business and that is a great buy. Hes young, english and talented with a bright future ahead of him.
Why oh why did Arsene not move to sign a player he 'admires' when the fee was eventually cut down to less than £10 million. Yet another poor bit of transfer actitvity by us and it's pissing me right off now. Jenas along with Cesc, Flamini and Gilberto would have made us a force, but no, we let him go to our rivals and allow them to get stronger and even closer to us i would think.
Great last day so far, to finish off a fucking fantastic summer for Arsenal FC... not a hint of sarcasm btw
Cannot believe that Jenas has signed for the spuds. Thought we wanted to sign him. What the fuck is going on.
mart poom......... do we have any ambition to win the c/l or regain the title?
Sorry to confirm it, but Poom was at the AFC reserve game at Barnet last night - saw him go into the Directors box, shake hands with Rice, Fabregas and Primorac, and get a clear "Welcome". This was just after half-time. Wenger had been there in the first half, but not the second - probably talking with the agent! Have to say my reaction was one of disapointment to see that this rumour was accurate.
Hoyte didn't play either, so guess that confirms that part, too. The reserves were bloody excellent again, even without Eboue, Djourou, Larsson, Bentley and Quincy. Every player was an 8 or higher - good to see Sol and Ryan G back again too. Both looked classy and fit. The style of play was that of the first team - we have so many talented young players, Arsene is surely right not to waste our hard earned cash yet! (Shame about his goalkeeper 'blindspot'.)
As for Jenas, let the Tiny Tots have him - he's not good enough to be even 5th choice in Arsenal's mid-field anyway.
Sorry Alex. I have to disagree. I think Jenas would have been a good signing for us.
I disagree Alex Jenas would have been a good signing for us. Admittedly when he was first touted as Vieira's replacement i slated him, but as time has gone on and NO ONE has come in, he is better than no one, but also talented and would have given us that bit of depth our midfield clearly lacks. As i said along with Cesc, Flamini and Gilberto, he could have made us a force, but NOOOOOO. We let him go to Spurs who now have Davids, Carrick, Mendes, Davis, Brown, Tainio and now Jenas. Bloody hell fire, they are stronger than us in that department. Im sorry there's no doubt of that.
Mart Poom is a shocking signing - he's not played for Sunderland since October due to an injury and we sign him?
I can't think of a more disappointing summer - I know we missed out on Robinho & Baptista, but why leave Owen to join Newcastle?
As for Jenas, the spuds can keep him, overrated because he's English - I'd rather have Flamini in the midfield.
We must have the smallest first team squad for years presently - letting Hoyte go to Sunderland is also odd as we only have Senderos, Toure, Campbell (when fit) and Cygan available for the centre back roles.
Disappointing, all the talk of big money being available and squad strengthening was either rubbish or misinformation.
First game at Ashburton a Champions League qualifier me thinks.
anon @11:48 i agree with everything you say apart from Jenas who i think would have been a good option as one of our 4 midfielders. On hoyte, i'm actually glad for him and excited to see how he does probably playing regular first team football in the Premiership. Admittedly Sunderland look shit, but maybe he will shine.
Sky Sports have an article saying that we are talking to 2 goalkeepers about a move and suggest that the 2nd keeper may well be Isaksson of Rennes. A president of Poom's former club has said that AW is talking to two keepers and lets hope we dont sign Poom, especially is Isaksson is the other player.
Sounds to me that AW probably wants Isaksson, but if that deal faisl he will sign Poom as a back up alternative.
They would only be taking poom until the end of the season so he will probably not have a proper medical like viera had!! I hope & pray that poom is not the keeper we sign but I think sky are just getting our hopes up about Isaksson. We have not even made a bid for him & it takes arsenal months to agree any deal like that!!
rennes just signed edman from spurs and a keeper from lyon so are ready to sell isaksson to us for 3-4 million i hear the medical is at 5 tonight lets see fingers crossed, on the jenas thing he would have been a good signing for us i dont think he is as good as cesc but he would have got plenty of games for us, we have 3 centre midfielders for this season thats scary i dont want to see bobby playing there at all
Why did we not sign Scott Parker or Jenas. £6.5M and £8M is hardly a fortune.
chelsea would not sell parker to us, jenas is not as good as cesc or flamimi so why pay 8 million for a player who is inferior to what we have???
Wenger rated Jenas highly and originally was intrested in him at around £8-9M.
If Arsene rates him then he must have something. As for Parker, we did not eben make a bid.
To say that Chescum would sell him to us, if you are able to predict such things can you give me 6 numbers for tonights lottery.
Maybe we'll see larson this season, was in the squad for a few champions league games.
He looks good, and not a bad playyer to have if we desperately need him.
If sol and senderos are fit and we have problems in midfield, i can see kolo coming up to midfield. Not such a bad thing, the man has an engine like a Rolls Royce.
Jenas would have been a good signing, cant understand how we let him and owen go. No matter what team or style of play the little fucker scores a lot of goals.
Remember we signed Alex Song also. Been given Edu's shirt which must mean he's gunna be in contention for first team football.
When Overmars and Pettit went everyone thought we were over. We found a man in Gilberto and Gilles for a littl while, and i believe we finished in the top 2 the following season.
Not too worried, as we have played well this season, and the midfield looks good. Cesc is better than Vieira was at 18, so dont worry. Maybe he needs a bit more aggression though?
Do you not feel a little anal twitch at the players the spuds are getting and now they seem to have a decent manager.
Just read that poom has joined us.this is at Sunderlands official website.
I hoped this was a rumour but alaass, its reality.Arsenal is bigger than Sunderland, but at the end of the day we go for their 3rd choice.whao what a mistake
What the fuck. Poom. You for real. i thought it was paper shit.
How pathetic!! not only have they signed him but he is injured & out of action for 4 weeks!! so whats the point, he misses the champions league matches that lehmann is suspended for!!
Disastrous, and the fact he is injured just bewilders me further. Cannot comprehend why we sign someone to play the first two CL games as Jens is suspended, but he is injured and unavailable. So it's Almoronia for us. Lucky Gunners eh?
So Chelsea have Cech and Cudicini, United have Van Der Sar and Howard, Liverpool have Reina, Dudek and Carson, even Spurs have Robinson, Newcastle Given. Arsenal, supposedly one of the title favourites now have a No 1 who can be a complete mentalist in Mad Jens Lemon, Almoronia who is a moron and now Sunderland's (who have lost 19 prem games in a row) 3rd choice Mart Poom, a 33 year old Estonian who has never played in Europe. Wenger's goalkeeping hoodoo goes on and on and on and on.
Bleak day to end a disastrous summer. Grim, Grim stuff.
I'VE BOTTLED THIS UP FOR TOO LONG!!
fellow gooners, although i've always had faith in wenger and i honestly
do believe in the buys we make; i must say i am gutted at the moment!
anon 11:48! SPOT ON! GILIO! SPOT ON!
just two things bros…
1) in owen, i think we need the opposite kind of striker to him to play up with
the PRINCE TH! I TRULLY BELIEVE RVP CAN BE THE STRIKER FOR ALL OCCASIONS! SOON! V SOON! and in REYES, QUINCY, ALLIDI, LUPOLI i think we've got enough zip box players! we need a big, skillfull hold up guy! who doesn't think he's too pretty to head the FU@**ING BALL! (that said henry you ARE a true gem!!!) i know wenger said we don't need a plan b! but for me adding that dimension wouldn't be a plan b but simply an additional option that at the moment we just don't have. MILAN HAVE GILLIARDO! JUVE HAVE IBRAHIMOVIC! (great boy!) INTER HAVE ADRIANO! BLUE SCUM HAVE DROG! RED SCUM HAVE HORSE! don't get me wrong, i wouldn't swap henry for any of those above, but with that kind of player at our disposal as well, JUST IMAGINE!!!
2) sky sports just listed all TWELVE of the idiotic yids middle men! and apart from carrick, davids and now jenas there's no way any of the others would get in our squad let alone the team! but i hear ya! in their case they can't touch us in ability, but at least they're building their numbers/options up!
NOW we don't need to build for sake of building! in our case we've got pure quality in FAB, GIL, FLAM and don't forget HLEB who i think we'll see in the middle a few times! there's also SONG! but as with most things this summer… HAVEN'T SEEN MUCH OF HIM! but ultimately, JENAS must surely be an option at £8m!!! maybe this SONG is the reason we haven't done anything there, but if he was our definite fourth centre-mid surely we would of seen something of him in the first team??? dissapointing arsenal! and i'm not against the overseas players coming in but yet again another ENGLISH player who might of added bite to the team in cold, damp february slips by. as our attacking midfielder FAB is a true battler along with his silk, but in this league, its all too easy to be bumped and barged out of your stride UNFAIRLY but ACCEPTABLY!!! NOTE THIS: the only thing PV had over FAB at this stage of their careers with us was his size advantage! size enough to stand nose to nose with KEANE when every other midfileder in the league was turning away with skids in their shorts!!! lose FAB due to injury and who comes in??? dissapointing arsenal!
however alex along with you, i trully do believe we've got some amazing yougsters coming through and for seasons now we've all been saying “play the kids” and i think we should. but on that note may i say how sad it is that now the kids are going to be used, it's in the absence of the likes of bent, penn etc.
let's hope all the young, inexperienced players live up to their potential! if they do i truly believe we can shock a few people this season. i just can't help thinking that after last season and the season before, we should not be in a position now where we're HOPING! rather than CHOMPING at the bit… the blue scum now have our confidence of a couple of seasons ago! and confidence HELPS!
Re. keeper situation! ARGGHHH! why are we talking about this PUM PUM POOM when a keeper like ISAKSSON is available! something behind closed doors must be happening here!!! we go all out for 2 brazilians! scratch the door for two englishmen! sell our two most experienced centre-mids! and bring in…
ONE player!
BOTTOM LINE: IF WENGER DOESN'T GET EXACTLY THE PLAYER HE WANTS, HE'S NOT GOING TO SPEND MILLIONS OF “STADIUM MONEY” TO BUY OVERPRICED BOYS! HE'LL USE THE ONES HE'S GOT! I TRULY BELIEVE THE STADIUM IS PLAYING A PART IN THIS SUMMERS TRANSFER DISSAPOINTMENT! MORE THAN ANYONE (INCLUDING THE PRESS) IS BEING LED TO BELIEVE!
Ive been on the Sunderland site and there are no signs of Poom joining us. Hope yet maybe PLEASE that its not him we are getting. Especially as it would be pointless.
gilio, it has come direct from the estonian fa!!
fuck them, theyre wrong, pleaseeeeee
Calm down people there is no need for this hysterical stuff:
'but NOOOOOO. We let him go to Spurs who now have Davids, Carrick, Mendes, Davis, Brown, Tainio and now Jenas. Bloody hell fire, they are stronger than us in that department. Im sorry there's no doubt of that.'
I'm sorry but that is hysterical Jenas has an average of 1.7 tackles won per game over the last two years. For example Fabregas's average is 2.4 (including when he was 16 years old). and Gilberto 2.6 tackles per game won since he's been with AFC.
'No matter what team or style of play the little fucker scores a lot of goals.'
I think not: Jenas has scored 3 goals in his last 89 games. Fabregas scored three in his first 43 games. Even Gilberto has 6 goals in 104 matches.
Standing in the Toon end last year, excellent view of Bergkamp's goal btw, I was left with no doubt how light-weight their fans think Jenas is. With Chavski watching Wenger's every transfer move, I think it was a ploy to get the moaning one to take him to the banker. Unfortunately the wrong fish bit. Ho hum.
St Tottering day will still occur with a frost on the ground.
'stronger in midfield', what better than:
Gilberto, Hleb, Pires, Ljungberg, Fabregas, Flamini, Toure, Clichy not counting Reyes, RVP, Lauren, Cole
Surely you can only play 4 or 5 of them?
People, calm down, A Wenger never intended to sign JJ
Oh and having read all the stuff about Poom above, can I just confirm that it is A. Wenger that has guided the team to titles (more than THFC have ever won) and cups and continual CL qualification and a brand of attcking football which is at times breathtaking in 501 games. Is it not A. Wenger that is oft quoted as the discoverer of talent and encourages loyalty and team spirit. Was the complete rebuilding of our infrastructure, training ground, stadium not done under his guidance. Single handedly changing attitudes to nutrition and alcohol consumption in PL could also be laid at his door. All this with a relatively tiny budget, with intelligence and thought.
Might I suggest that he may have some idea of what he is doing.
And to spell it out once more.
Calm down, relax and enjoy, we may win something, we may not.
For context my first trip to THOF was in 1971 to see MUFC beaten 4-0.
Anon..3:45...What a load of bollox.
You even got mixed regarding,
'No matter what team or style of play the little fucker scores a lot of goals.'
That was quoted aginst Owen. With all thiose stats you sound like a very sad fat 40+ virgin. Tthe comic book shop owner from the Simpsons comes to mind!
anon 3:54, whats your problem? he got one reference wrong, so what. don't slate him cos he's one of the few gooners out there who happens to be a bit positive. i happen to agree with everything he said. don't moan till there's something to moan about ie: not winning trophies

To the last person who seems unable to enjoy a little reasoned intelligent comment without being abusive, can I just point out that the full quote was:
'Jenas would have been a good signing, cant understand how we let him and owen go. No matter what team or style of play the little fucker scores a lot of goals.'
As such the person refered to as scoring goals is the subject of the first Sentance (jenas). As such you are incorrect.
If by chance you wrote this or still can't understand why you are wrong I fear you may be thick and on your school hols. I understand that English GCSE is getting easier all the time, but are you young enough to scrape through?
The whole article is incorrect. Not moaning being realistic.
Sad fat supporters like that are an embarrassing to the club and its supporters.
Better off without them.
Anon 4.04...Quote related to Owen, hence little fuck and stle of play comment.
Jenas is over 6ft., you fucking homosdexual retard.
i'll think you'll find being realistic would be to realise that we won a trophy the last time we completed a season and are in the champions league. prick
I have seen Jenas play, many times, he is often brushed off the ball and looks small to me. How many managers has Jenas had so far?
You are still wrong, I can punctuate the paragraph for you if you want to change its meaning. However, getting rid of your anger would need professional help.
Good insult, btw
Luckily won a trophy last season, despite the dreadful Wenger tactics, prick
you're a scum fan aren't you? only a scum fan would moan about winning a trophy without playing nice pretty football.
Don't talk bollox. We berate Chelscum fans that their success counts for nothing because they play boring unattractive football. How can we then defend that argument when we do it? Twat.
We are suppose to be the free playing football team.
Anon..4:14 When you return to school ask for extra English lessons, you are in desperate need of them.
don't fucking speak for me you cunt. i don't ever have a go at chelscum for playing like that. if thats what wins them matches then good luck to them. and how many times have we heard gooners go on abouyt how we need to start getting lucky results by grinding them out.
I think wenger gets too much credit for his signings!! The youth players which we sign are mostly through contacts of our own liam brady, but no-one ever mentions this!! If it was not for him players like lupoli would not be at the club!! Yeah wenger has signed one great unknown player in vieira but the rest like henry, overmars etc were already established!! This does not take away from the fantastic job wenger has done without him god knows where we would be now, certainly not moving to a top stadium.
However I take issue with anyone who says he knows what he is doing when it comes to goalkeepers!! name one real success that he has signed in that department. Please dont say lehmann the man continually costs us goals, yes he done extremely well in the fa cup final but watch the chelsea at the bridge if he stays on his line drogba does not score, but yet again he is off wondering in no mans land!!
Anon 4:23 You get very angry when you cannot communicate in an intelligent manner. Are you seeking help? Is it too much of your father's spunk up your ass which is causing the aggression?
anon 4:25...Great post and so very true.
yes anon 4:25, thats exactly what it is. although judging by your post the same surely applies to you?
Is that it. a very witty retort.
and saying that my dad spunks up my arse is comic genius is it?
It were'nt meant to be funny. Just stating the facts.
ok, so was i then
anything else?
Loser.
hahahaha. and you said i was witty!!! where do you sit by the way?
North Bank, you? Oh sorry, sad fat virgins like yourself don't get out often.
Im not really bothered about Owen signing cos i think we can score enough goals without him. Remember we was top scorers last year
But I cannot believe we havent gone for Jenas. 8 million for a young english plyer is a good deal. And he is better than Flamini
SUPER SPURS.
Jenas is not over six feet tall - he is five foot ten.
Three mil profit for the shirker, I'm lovin it.
Toon Toon
5:44 Need to get your facts right. But what should I expect from a work shy twat sponging off the state.
Hoyte isnt good enough for Arsenal. I cant believeve he was still there and we let go of players like Pennant
Why are some of you so thick on here:
JERMAINE JENAS
DOB CLUB TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR
HEIGHT 1.80m POSITION MIDFIELDER
WEIGHT 73.54kg SQUAD NUMBER 7
That's 70 inches less than 72 (which would be six feet). Makes him just over 5'10''.
Talk about having to spell it out to some of you 'BoB' candidates.
Anyway I am off, no point in hanging around in a site with so many over-reacting, stupid and dull people on here who can only develop a discussion with abusive words. The sooner you lot buy your Chavski shirts the better.
---Insert insult here---
11:10...What a loser.
