Not a bad group at all. We've got Ajax (as usual!), Sparta Prague and FC Thun (WHO???!?!?).
I don't see any problem with us qualifying.
Your thoughts please ladies and gents....

Ajax are always a difficult team for us to beat, Sparta are no mugs. It wont be easy but i'd very disappointed if we didn't qualify.....
Amterdamn then Prague.... all i will say to you boys is:
enjoy the football but most of all - make sure u put your gloves on!
- we should get through alright though...but knowing what we're like in europe, no doubt we'll still manage to make it hard for ourselves!
Well we couldnt have hoped for a betetr group, while are English rivals have suffered. It probably wont make much of a difference due to our shit performances in europe, but we should at the very least get out of the group stages. Im expecting nothing though, we will make hard work of it and probably make FC Thun look like Real Madrid.
Such a shame for our rivals, Chelsea and Liverpool being paired with pot 4 dangermen Betis, and United with quality sides like Vilarreal and Udinese. My heart weeps...
Although travelling to Amsterdam and Prague will be great!!!
Ahh Goldfingers here I come!
The mighty Thun of Antioch! Heehee!
Thun knocked out dynamo kiev in the qualifying round so they are no mugs!! We should qualify though.
We need to exercise a bit of caution though! FC Thun knocked Dynamo Kiev out in the qualifying rounds; a team who has given us a lot of problems in the past. If we play well, we should get through, however. We couldn't have hoped for a better draw.
And there shall come a day when each man shall hold aloft his mighty Thun and peace shall reign!

Sorry fellow Gooners! It's just tickled me!
This is a terrific chance for us to build up a head of steam in Europe. With our team we should, SHOULD, waltz this group and get some real confidence from it.
That said i will definitely be taking nothing for granted. I just hope the fans create great atmospheres at home for the last Euro campaign at Highbury. Last year we saw how much a crowd can lift a team in Liverpool, so maybe the fans can give the team that something extra - A 12TH MAN
I live about 20 miles from Thun, and as a lifelong Arse thought I would let you know a couple of facts about the club. It's annual budget (before qualifying for the CL) is about £2 million. They play in a stadium that only holds abouts 6'500, and the CL ties are sure to be moved to the Wankdorf (!) stadium in Berne, now rebuilt and baptised, pretentiously, Stade de Suisse. This new arena holds 32'000 and they're bound to fill it for all three group stage matches. Book for Berne, not for Thun.
They have a couple of useful players, notably a young goalkeeper called Jakupovic. He's got a bright future, though probably not with Thun. They also have a striker clled Adriano! He's technically gifted but has already declared he's using the CL as a gateway to better things elsewhere. Well, they all are I suppose. A rundown on the first team squand can be found here

... in German, but it gives you an idea.
It wasn't so long since FC Thun was playing in the Swiss First League (the third division). It's basically an amateur club that has come good with a gifted management team and a big heart. They finished an astoning 2nd in the top division last year, behind Basle and ahead of Grasshoppers. The papers are full of Thun-mania, and the visit of Arsenal is going to have 'em singing in the floods, if the waters haven't receded by November 22nd. At the moment the Aare River, which flows into the City of Berne, has burst it's banks in a number of places and is threatening to break the dams in Thun!
The town has an inferiority complex regarding it's neighbour Berne. This CL campaign has captured the local imagination in similar fashion to the rise of Wigan - it's just that much more omantic, because Thun don't have a millionaire chairman.
I'll be happy to give you mor information if required. bosworth@exploratoire.ch
Cheers,
Boz
