Is Titi Getting the Needle?
According to that wonderful institution that is the Daily Mirror Thierry is getting pissed off with the lack of ambition shown by the club. He is apparently peeved at the lack of signings and feels he wants to achieve more than the club can offer.
Several other players are also getting fed up with the way the club has done things recently and even Le Boss admits Titi's future is uncertain...
AW said "We are ready to negotiate a new long-term contract but I have the impression he is not. Thierry is my priority.
"He is the new captain, he is the one who must lead this club into the new stadium. I can't imagine him not being part of the project, but at the moment we have not sorted it."
I HOPE TO GOD THAT THIS IS JUST PAPER TALK. LOSING VIEIRA IS ONE THING, BUT IF THIERRY WAS TO LEAVE ASWELL....WELL, IT DOESN'T BEAR THINKING ABOUT.
Lets hope we have a statement on Arsenal.com later rubishing it all!

Nyssie,I think there is some water in this words,i think Titi was promised big names too by the manager and he seems not to see it happening.
henry is only thinking what most of the fans are thinking.
i think this story boils down to money, and our unwillingness to spend any.
do we have any money?
regardless of what people say about wenger's virtue's of patience and thrift in the transfer market (and i have sympathy with this view), the fact is we don't have any "world class" signings to show for it so far. sooner or later you need to sign someone, even if they aren't your first choice target.
having said that, the world goes on after henry. a new attack will be needed sooner or later.
the world goes on after wenger too
we have the stadium, and so long as we Dein is in charge then i remain very positive about the long term ambition and success of the club.
CARTOON ANIMALS???
WHAT THE F*CK, PISS OFF THIS IS NOT AN BILLBOARD.....GIT.
I'll think henry will wait till we move to ash. grove, but i think wenger may sell him when he is 29 like he did paddy.
just seen all those posts from yesterday having a go nyssie, well fuck them. quality site, quality posts, and quality people on it. apart from fuckpig chelsea fan obviously!! although he does make it enetertaining!! as for TH, I think he'll stay
MoW i do agree,Titi is right to feel like that(as the press has made us know) word moving around was 2 world class players, what you get is two promising lads(Vita manona and Song) plus some 1 good signing(Hleb) with one strong injured third choice.let me not be negative but real,Titi is 28yrs,he is at his prime,2 years down the groove he will be no more aforce.AW, i thought we fans make up the club too,if its a one mans dimension ideas and thoughts then it wont help.i agree with Titi to show his kind of ???.who ever thought DB10 would end up with no CL medal in his name, its a suprise to me and DB too.we are good for england but not europe.Titi has won anything English football can offer but not what Europe football can do yet he is growing no younger
wouldn't be surpised is henry goes soon either. the cash will be welcome. clearly he could play deeper as he gets older, but sometimes a fresh face and fresh style is needed.
who knows, the silver lining might be that we get a striker who can head the ball, and then we end up doing better in europe....
regardless, we will fondly remember the likes of pires, henry and vieira - knowing that we had the very best of their playing careers.
he's not gonnma leave. he's just married an english girl, had a baby who he says he wants to bring up in england, and just bought a new house. unfortunately this house is in chelsea but don't worry, he's not on his way there, thats where his wife is from!!
Very true Mow - we've defintely had their best years...
this is a story run by the news of the world on sunday, thats a piece of shit paper, and the mirror are copying it as an exclusive, if you read it you'll see no quotes from henry, it just says they know what hes thinking. how the fuck would they know. its a fuckin disgrace of an article with absolutely no foundation.
what a nice consolation MoW on this bad day of news again
juve were on telly the other day. i couldn't bear to watch so turned over striaght away. it was like watching your ex get fondled by some fat oily italian guy.
project 404, are you saying you think he'lll sign for lyon>?i don't think so!!
Thanks Jobby....
:o)
I think that TH14's agent is behind this story. I recall Freddie 'moaning' a few months back while with the Swedish team that the Arse hadn't brought any star players in and we were relying too much on the youth. It sounded like he wanted out. A few weeks later he pens a new deal! I think this is similar. TH14 has said he would not leave unless the club wanted him to go - which is not bloodly likely (well not yet anyway!).
I saw the Juve game aswell Mow - weird wasn't it...
Like your analogy - "it was like watching your ex get fondled by some fat oily italian guy."
Thats EXACTLY how it felt!
Nyssie,MoW and all us here,i need yo straight up comment on this one,Toure in Jan wil be out for African cup,so might Eboue,Song(if he does well for us),Lauren(according to some rumours,he is still considering to get back for his national team),Hoyte is gone.what will the starting line up be and who will be the back ups for Lauren,Toure,Eboue? taking into consideration FA cup would have started meaning more games each week,Carling Cup will there be too.Am just asking.....
Nil, has ralph decided to play for cameroon again? have i missed something?
and Eboue? is that speculation at this stage? will his nation qualify?
For African cup?,Cameroon wil be in that cup.they are right now second in their group.
MoW,i did say,it were rumours moving around,I do have no full truth on that, taking into consideration that, the POOM stuff came as speculation, only for us to realise it was truth
I would rather hope that my ex is getting fondled by some fat oily Italian guy (Pavarotti after a concert).
I think Titi will go if we dont show some signs of wanting to compete for the best players in the world.
It may just be a wake up call for the board.
Yea Ralphs playing for Cameroon again.
Henry will sign, dont worrie, hes wife is English, she will keep him here, dont under estimate the power of the women.
On Eboue,Jobby yo right,he is an Ivorian, and mark you they are top of the table,so they automatically qualify
Henry leaving would be catastrophic. I cannot possibly blame him for maybe having thoughts of leaving, because this summer we have shown a lack of ambition after the promised signings. WE ARE WEAKER than last year when we were some way off runaway winners Chelsea. Im also sure that TH would love to win the CL, and with the squad as it is he won't be winning it with us.
Im sure he will play the first season in the new stadium, but beyond that i really do have doubts.
To finish, what a great way to really cap off a great summer for us. First PV4 goes and isnt replaced because we miss out on Baptista, then we sign bloody Mart Poom (so low that is - almost embarassing) and now yet more Henry rumours. Yippee
I think at the moment Nil, it's all ifs and buts - HOWEVER, that is a good question...Wenger may HAVE to buy in Jan IF they are called up for international duty...
Who would you chaps like to see come in at right back, should we need one?
Trevor Steven
gonna make a provocative discussion point here.
does anyone think henry is part of the problem in europe?
i've always had this theory that shearer has been the georgies problem for years (they obviously disagree), and he was certainly england's problem under keegan.
Nyssie,to call for a RB is a hard one,I have always stated that, apart from Hoyte,Eboue,i would have some seasons AGO gone for Carr when he was still at the lane.Cicinho would also be another target, but for a short partial cover,i would go for this Ajax boy,or just we buy a CB and shift Toure RB
Thierry has a fairly decent goalscoring record in Europe, but the defenders are better equipped tactically to deal with him. Thats why i think we need a plan B in europe if we are to crack it. We need a different type of striker. But AW is too stubborn.
Im resigned to expecting bugger all in Europe now anyway and refuse to get excited by our matches because i know i'm likely to be disappointed.
I think our ONLY problem in Europe is that we try to play the same way as in the Premiership. Successful european teams suffocate the opposition into surrender rather than than blow them out of the water with flair and attacking play.
Look at the last couple of winners in L'pool and Porto, boring as fuck, but effective. Italian teams often get to the latter stages because that is their natural game. Real Madrid were the last exciting team to win it and even they changed their game sometimes.
I agree with Gilio - every year when I hear that music on the opening CL game i think, maybe this is our year.
Not this time.
Europe is a definite no-no this year....
:o(
Agreed Nyssie. The music almost inspires the feeling that we can do it and the excitement grows. But after 8 years of underachievement this time the hype will not get the better of me and leave me disappointed.
I expect nothing, so if we get out of the group then great, if we get through the 2nd round fantastic, anything beyond that and i would be in dream land.
We are too attacking in Europe as Westside says...in the CL we are playing the elite - we can't expect to walk the ball into the net, but thats exactly what we try to do. It all goes back to needing a Plan B
titi will stay he is just using his position at the club to get some answers,ie ok we did not spend any money this season but will we when we move to the emirates stadium?etc
he loves us we saved his career and made him the player he is today, financially we will be more secure next year onwards, the board however may say to arsene he is free at the end of next year sell him to real so he does not leave for free, maybe they will offer baptista or robinho/???
Nil if we were going to sign a centre back i would have liked it to be Vincent Kompany. But that is now a no go as he will be cup tied in europe.
If that African Nations cup question is posed then right now we are looking more than a little fucked at the back...
i'm absolutely disgusted by some of the comments on here. its fair enough being worried or feeling we're not quite good enough but to come on a slate a new signing before he's even made a save for us, thats just wrong. that's the spurs way of doing things nad i for 1 am prepared to give poom his chance to prove that he's still got it.
Westsidegooner, spot on!!.We always play the same game.So if our LCM(left Central Mid)is tightened up(taking into mind that most of our goals/crosses come from this side,we are out done.thats why i said some 2 seasons ago that,if we were to be played against Real,we would have sunk them, coz they played our similar ball.Titi isnt our problem, but our problem has been the manager to come up with a play that out dones the opposition.Players perform on the field what the gaffer has laid on paper.
Dont make me contemplate Titi leaving. I'm off for a few beers now, so I dont want to be all depressed and in self hurt mode.
westside hit the nail on the head we should change our style for europe, gillio we can win europe if liverpool and porto can with their sqaud we can with ours, if the african nations claim our players expect cygan to play at full back with senderos, and campbell in the middle, ralph has not decide if he is going back to international football yet
jack, im willing to give him a chance, because i have to. He is what weve got so if hes in goal i will support him. I just think we could have done a hell of a lot better. Isaksson for one.
Wenger dropped both Jens and Moron last year, surely he must have known we needed a quality international keeper in his prime? In the end weve got Poom: 3rd choice at relegation battlers Sunderland, injured for the best part of a year and at 33 - past his best.
th14 is isolated in europe as his partner plays to deep so teams mark him and pires or freddie and we have no one else to slap it in the back of the net,in the prem teams are not willing to do that so we do better
Nyssie, Gilio!! This might be our year!! Think about it!
Remember the cup final in Cardiff? It's far more likely we'll be underdogs in our big games this year. They wont take the initiative coz they wont have the confindence. So we'll sit back more - just because we're not as strong.
The paradox is that by being less good our game might actually be more suited for europe.
Freddy, Gilberto and Flamini busting guts and sinew in the middle...
Senderos attacking everything from set pieces. Lehmann pouncing around the six yard box for a world cup place. Ash scampering around like a rabid dervish.
There's no reason to think we can't be resilient.
And any Wenger side is capable of nicking a goal!!
C'mon!! The dream is alive gentlemen! One nil to the Arsenal!!
Jack!! am not making it personal but lets face it,Warmuzi a couple of seasons ago was signed, two seasons down the road,if you ask Cesc to name the GK's he got at Arsenal he will forget Warmuzi in his list.POOM may, might, will be good is still our wish.
Don't be surprised if Titi is off
when Arsenal fade in the challenge for honours this seaoo. I believe the first ten to fifteen games will be crucial.
If goals are hard to come by and the defence begins leaking goals,I believe he will be off.
Then Arsenal will have lost a world class striker who can score and create goals for others.
How many strikers are like him in th EPl?
Owen? Rooney maybe.Shearer?
I have always thought Titi does more work in the field than he is actually required, seeing starts of last season,of all Pires and Ljumbergs goals he created 3/4 of all those goals combined. So if we get to Europe, though some English clubs have learnt, mark off TH and we get short of goals.thats why i thought we needed a player who makes his home the BOX(RVN-type)and a little good up air, some one like Torres.(If Everton can try what about Arsenal)?
MoW, thats a quality post mate!! Nil, not really sure what your trying to say about cesc? all i'm saying is don't slate one of our players before he's even pulled on the shirt
Im sorry Jack, but we are within our rights to make our opinions about Poom. It is not a good signing for the club. Simple as that. Sying that i of course hope he proves me wrong.
can poom cover at right back?
course you are gilio but i just feel a goalie thrives on confidence and i don't think he'll have any if all he sees everywhere is gooners saying he's shit and past it. there's nothing to lose in giving him a chance and getting behind him. when he makes a howler against spurs that costs us the match, then we can have a go!!
All this chat about TH14 poss moving is abit pessimistic, AW for some reason as good a manager as he is has a habit of letting players contracts run down, ie Edu, Kanu, Wiltord etc. not quite sure why he does that, in that respect he has abit of a failing as a manager, however befor you all think i'm damning him - the good far out weighs the bad. Is selling PV4 for £14m good business? Well we say no now cos we could of got £23m last year - but thats in hindsight no one here could say how an indifferent season Paddy was goint to have last season & how Cesc was going to be great guns for us.
Also I would have to say, ok we might do well this season, someone said remember the FA Cup final, thats ONE game - we arent going to get lucky for all 60+ games this season. Also not soo sure what people have been drinking but we finish 12 pts off The Bank of Chelsea last season.. TWELVE POINTS! and how do we reinforce the troops? By getting rid of Vieira, Edu, Bentley, Aliadiere and buying a 33 year old keeper who has been out for over a year to a team that was relegated and Hleb. AW said he was gonna make 'two world class signings' AFTER Helb.
Must admit not normally pessimistic but dont see how we're gonna claw back a 12pt deficit at this rate & you cant say The Bank of Chelsea have got weaker this year or will be easier to beat either. Tell you what boys i've got EVERYTHING crossed this season!
mow and me seem to be singing from the same sheet why cant we win vieira layed 19 games last season and in the champs league against bayern he was totally outplayed by ballack(granted after edu came off injured)my mates and i were moaning about his contribution all last season, without him we will be forced to play a diiferent style,we will not be as easy to play against in europe this season, chelsea and manure play the system most teams play in europe, we beat manure in the final with bergy leading the line, and chelsea beat us luckily in the league at home,we are a lot stronger than most fans realise, also the european teams dont get to play us as much as the prem teams so await some surprises guys!!!!
http://arsenalview.blogspot.com/2005/09/lay-off-henry-is-this-greatest-arsenal.html
if you want some entertainment go to this site and look at the pics. pure quality!!
I have come to this late - I'd like to comment on the Poom signing, mentioned a few postings back.
I'm sure most gooners will be 100% behind him when he plays for us. I don't have anything against him - he is a solid pro and will not doubt do a solid job for us.
My only issues with signing him are:
1) He is apparently injured and will not be available for our first CL games when Jens is suspended - the very games we need GK cover for.
2) He is our highest profile signing of the whole summer.
His signing, close to the deadline, has also given focus to the mounting frustration of many gooners to the lack of promised signings ("is that it?" etc).
Jack, what i meant about Cesc and Warmuz is that,we always tend to go for GKs that have passed their good times,I for one gave Warmuz a chance and thought he would make it but alaaass....so i do have this same feeling about POOM.i know it does harm if a player gets no support from the fans, but at the end of it all performance makes it all right.i may have always had a gut feeling of our GK's taking into consideration players like Shaban,Warmuz,Stack(he is quality-but not yet there).
just been on arsenal tv and there is the squad on the tour of the stadium. fuck me, its impressive!!
the staium is huuuge cant wait to move in next year
Some strange old posts on this ARSENAL blog. Poom? Who knows as no-one has seen him play for a few years. From what I recall he has quality in abundance, so lets give him a chance before we start writing him off. Our chances in Europe? Look who's won it the past couple of years then tell me we haven't got a chance! Not making any big name signings? So the fuck what. We have a quality young squad who all work hard for each other. We still play the most exciting footy I think any of us have seen in our lifetimes, exactly where is the problem?
We need to get behind the team, through the good and bad times, so just cheer on the lads!
zickle, i hear what your saying. I disagree about Poom's quality, but im willing to give him a chance. That doesnt mean im impressed by his signing, because i feel it is a bit embarassing as a club of our stature should be signing far betetr keepers than Poom. I for one bet that Viera will be superb for Vilarreal and we will see first hand when they play Man Utd. We will regret not signing him.
We are poor in Europe, every single year and this year we are weaker than the past 3 or 4 years. How can you possibly argue that we can win it. If we get out of the group then thats like winning it to me.
Yes we are exciting, young and a quality footballing side, but that nowadays with Chelsea around is sadly not good enough. I dont care if we play really nice, pretty football if we lose. I would rather play ugly football and win! We are a title winning side, and this current squad just does not look strong enough to me.
As regards on signings, i think in a week or so people's frustration will disappear. I think many thought at the end of last season that this summer was going to be very exciting for Arsenal and the fans with '2 world class players' and maybe a few more coming in because Chelsea were a distance ahead of us. IN THE END WE HAVE GOT WEAKER. That is why people are being pessimistic, and i relate to them, i think they are right.
That said i agree with your last comment, it is time to get behind the team and forget the dreadful summer of 2005.
All you cunts are just depressing. You's ranbling on about Arsenal and how they are in a crises has literally put me in a shit mood. You cunts are the most gullable, TWO FACED cunts on earth. One week you say this, the other that. Shut the fuck up and let the football do the talking you depressing pricks!
A very interesting and articulate view cuntchops. Learn to spell and maybe people will learn to listen. Also, you may try offering an alternative opinion as opposed to being abusive to put your ideas across.

come and help me out on this spurs blog lads, i'm on my own!!
westside, that link dont work for me.
anon 2:00 shut up!!
Wasn't me MoW.
Zickle, I have not seen maradona play for a few years & I would be more than a little upset if we signed him, so you can imagine my feelings about gloomy poom!!! Wenger would not sign viera because of an injury that may/may not happen one day, but is happy to have a goalkeeper that is already injured!! make sense of that!!
