Titi Out

Thierry will not be playing against 'Boro this weekend due to an injury picked up during the ROI game earlier this week.

Le Boss said;

"It is an inflammation of his groin, not a strain. He should be back in a matter of days, possibly for next week's Champions League tie against FC Thun,"

The breaking of Wrighty's record will have to wait then....

I do think its more of providing a rest on him.I would then love to see Quincy coming at some point in the game especially if we are 2 or 3 up.My starting eleven would be
POOM
Lauren Toure Senderos(Camp.70)Cole
Ljumberg Gilberto Cesc Pires(Hleb)
DB10(RVP-75) Reyes

A really good idea to play a keeper who hasn't had a competitive game for about a year and a half. Almunia is back for the Thun game and will clearly play whilst Lehman is suspended. I also really think it is a good idea to plan substitutions ahead, to the minute. You are a tactical genius. Gold star.

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Even if Poom hasn't played for a year, he's better than manual "butter wrists" Almunia.I think it would be a good game to blood him in for next weeks champs league game. As for Dennis in the starting line up?...I personally think its to give RVP an extended run.

Anonymous 3:16,i have been on this blog the whole day and have had no conversation so actually i was doing that to set the pace for the debate.
On POOM,i would love to see him start as someone said he is still better than Almunia.POOM isnt injured for the record but he is lacking match "sharpness",it would though still be good to see him in as a preparation for the CL game

Mr Hotspur says...Very mature comments Chavsea.

Anyone know anything about our new Dir. of Football. Read AW's comments today about him. On the Spurs website on his fact file it said that he brought Toure, Clichy, Allidiere, Lupoli, Cygan (is that good!). He also played a mjor role in bringing Henry, Pires and RVP to Arsenal.
On paper it looks good. Do you know any different.

hmm. weird chat going on here.

titi out for six weeks. i have a feelig this season is gonna be shite. had it all summer. it not nice when you're team stops improving and goes in decline. the pressure is on tonight and at the weekend. our kids will have to start acting like men.

this is where we find out how good a manager Wenger really is. good to see he was really fucked off at the weekend though.

9:53 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

thank god you lot are back!! MoW, i agree that this may be a tough season but dont agree about your wenger comments. i think we all know already how good a manager he is no matter what happens. the way he's single handidly kept us at the top in this country on our budget is quite simply unbelievable

10:46 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

guys guys.

when i said we'd find out how good a manager he truly is, i didn't mean he is shit. not at all. what i mean is we'll find out how he copes in these sorts of circumstances.

circumstance when the pressure is on, morale and belief start to waiver and maybe the players at your disposal aren't up for it. the next few weeks before TH14 comes back are massive. arguably the most important in AW's history at Arseanl.

how many CL and premiership pts will we have by the end of October?

thats the six million dollar question....

11:34 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

no posts here for ages nice to see you guys are chatting again we should walk through thun tonight and i think he will rest a few players i am still pisse4d that we lost at the riverside what do you guys think is going wrong?

12:33 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

guys, we are gonna have to face the hard truth, that this season is gonna be poor. last season we ended up 12 points behind chelsea, and that's before they spent another £60m during the summer. in the meantime, we've lost edu and viera and only purchased hleb (great signing though he is). our current squad is weaker than last year and if we were not good enuff then, we definitely will not be this season. personally i think the arsenal board and wenger have lied to the fans bout the money avaialble to spend. i dont think there is any!! if they were more honest and admitted as much, there would be less pressure on arsene. he is without doubt the BEST manager in the league by far, but now with very limited resources. i see us finishing 3rd or 4th and 1/4 finals in the champions league. not good enuff but what more can we expect with this squad. the worst thing is however if the senior players thierry, ash, campbell, etc. are now much more likely to be tempted away than they ever have been. and if the right offers comes in, trust me, arsene will let any of the above go. we are in transition. lets just accept it and hope for the best.....

25,000 fans at chelsea last nite. disgrace. sums it all up.

1:19 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Wenger has to start with RVP & Reyes tonight. I think we need Sol at the back and maybe he should be captain - If I remember rightly (and dare I say it) at spurs he threw himself into everything when captain and led by example, and I think this is *really* what the gunners need. Someone to take the game by the balls and lead by example.

I agree with whoever it was though that I think Bergkamp will start instead of RVP & Senderos will get the nod over Sol, simply as RVP got a kick yesterday and Sol is coming back from injury.

I think it would be good to give Sol a run out tonight though as we have everton next game and we'll need the big centre-back to deal with ferguson.

1:33 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Arsenal have not sold their full aloocation for tonight. Your not much better.

1:53 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

jobby, i can understand what you're saying, but surely wenger must realise that we need more than a striker to better our sqaud. anyone watching arsenal regularly last year could see the most obvious problem was cover in defence. and this season exactly the same. as soon as either toure or campbell are injured we are simply not good enuff and will leak silly goals. chelsea and boro, are obivous examples. and the fact that wenger tried to sign baptista and robinho just shows that even he thinks we need more players.

as for our current squad, if players like thierry or ashley decide that this team is not good enuff to compete in the premiership let alone the champions league, why would they stay? if a serious offer of say £35m+ came in next summer for henry, who at almost 29 is not getting any younger, do you honestly think he'd stay? do you honestly think arsenal could turn it down?

and veira? have you seen him play for juventus this season. i still think it was premature to let him go. but if that was what wenger decided, so be it, but then WHY NOT REPLACE HIM?? are any of the players left even as good? no chance.

i think if we'd made a few additions during the summer, this group of players could have achived big things this season. as it stands, i dont think our squad is strong enuff. any suspensions or injuries and we will suffer.

even if you could name a good first eleven with say cambell, henry and rvp injured, try naming a decent subs bench.

i'm just being realistic and 9 points behind chelsea after 3 weeks of football is so disapointing. does anyone really think chelsea will lose that advantage and more importantly is our squad able to make that up?

as much as it hurts to say, i dont think so.

You just have to hope that the building of the new stadium was not based success on the pitch as at that time it was only Arsenal and Man U. Now with the Russian billionaire, if it was based on success on the pitch, you could be in big trouble.

Jobby...Are you telling me that your team is not under performing. Are you telling me that the gooners are the only supporters in the country that cannot see the transition at the Lane. I have not heard or read one football expert that has not recognised this fact.
But, you choose to live in the past and ignore the future.

Wenger is the most stressed that I have seen him. He is under fierce pressure to succeed on the pitch because the financial planning for the new stadium was based on this and now the Russian billionaire's arrival has fucked this up.
You have no money to spend and selling your top players.

9:58 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Jack...Unfortunately there is no way to help you. You have been a gooner for too long.

The thing I never understand is blind following. That is believe anything as long as it supports the club, ignore the truth.
Despite what your club is saying, there are very obvious problems. It amazes me that no gooner can see it.

10:02 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

anon 9:58, who said we cant see that you're improving. course you are. but it seems that every spurs fan has it into their head that cos they're improving it means we're suddenly shit and you're better than us. a quality team doesn't just turn shit overnight. we'll still qualify for CL and still perform well this season.

10:02 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

anon 10:02, i've never said that we're gonna win his and win that. its quite clear we're not as good as last year but as i've just said, a quality team doesn't turn shit overnight. its not blind following, its getting behind the team no matter what position we're in. something glory hunting chelsea fans would know nothing about

10:05 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Jack...Any Spurs fan that says we are now better than you, and means it not as a wind up, is a twat.

There seems serious problems at AFC and everyone just accepts the reassurances of the board without question. We had similar experiences with Scholar with the board and the banks saying all was ok.

Your team is under performing and there are no obvious signs of changing that. It looks like a downward spiral.

10:08 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

well we'll just have to agree to disagree. i think its just spurs fans hoping this will happen and believing the press. you know thta we're a very well run club who dont get into financial trouble. but obviously we'll just have to wait and see.

10:11 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Jack..I agree about Chavsea. But, supporting teams through the bad times is one thing, not recognising problems is another.

We experienced it with Scholar, made sure things changed by removing Sugar, and showed our disapproval to Levy by throwing season tickets onto the pitch. Things then changed because the board knew that the supporters would not accept it.
The AFC board could be in a comfort zone because they know you turn up, full house, no matter what. So why bother.
This was at THFC where we sold out every home game despite the shit we had to watch.

10:12 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Jack...I agree AFC is a well run club, but to my knowledge the decision to push on forward with the stadium, though it had been in the planning process for a while, occurred as the shift in football power moved from Man U to yourselves. So, there must have been an element of this based on success on the pitch. The arrival of the Russian must then cause a major concern.
No matter how ell run you are, you cannot predict the future, and DD did not know what was ablout to happen at Chelsea.

10:16 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Jack..The one thing we will agree upon is that Shorty off of the Spurs blog is a total prick.

10:17 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

thats true, u cant predict the future, which is what all you lot are doing. who knows if the stadium was built on conditions of success? theres still 15000 on the waiting list so there'll be no problem filling it wgich will increase revenue by a hell of a lot. and i know u dnt agree but i do feel we can still win things with this squad (maybe 1 0r 2 players short!)

10:19 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Jack..The question is can you fill it if the team is not successful on the pitch. As I said there seems to be serious problems at AFC, and I don't think its wishful thinking. It just looks that way without gooner specs on. But, maybe your right.

Your right. Too many Spurs are predicitng the future, which is stupid. All I can say is that the correct foundations are being layed to provide us with the best possibility of long term success for many a year.

10:30 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

I think that the future of AFC depends upon Henry.

He does not seem to be his usual self. He was always prone to the odd queenie fit, but he seems to have gone into himself. If he comes back all guns blazing, and signs a new deal, I think that will lift the players and move the club on.

10:32 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

couldn't agree more mate. gotta admit i'm looking forward to the rivalry between our clubs coming back again. it has gone a bit sour recently with us so far ahead!! with regards to filling the ground, i think we'll be alright as long as we continue to qualify for CL at very least. we do have a lot of good youngsters coming through so as long as we buy a couple of decent players next jan or summer and we manage to keep hold of henry i think we'll be ok. gotta stay positive after all!!

10:34 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Jack..It would be great for our two clubs to be closer together in footballing terms, as long as it is competing for titles and cups and not fighting relegation.
From a Spurs perspective, we really miss the big local derby against Arsenal. It seems strange that your big games are against Man U and Chavsea. I also get the impression that the gooners wish we were better to make the games big occassions again.

As long as AFC fans understand that it is a transitional period then there should be no problem for you.
The supporters who complain fall into two categories:
1) Long term fans who only want the best for the club, and realise how far Wenger has taken you.
2) Recent glory hunting supporters. These can fuck off to Chavsea.

We don't have glory hunting supporters at the Lane for obvious reasons.

By the way, any chance that you'll ever put out a team of men against Man U or Chelsea? Every time that you play them you get shafted! You're not just the laughing stock of North London, you're the laughing stock of the world.
