Le Boss Denies Dacourt & Davids Reports

No real surprise here...AW has denied any interest in signing either Olivier Dacourt or Edgar Davids.

When asked about Dacourt, he said: “No, there is no truth in that at the moment. I am happy with what we have. I will add what I feel is really needed. Numbers-wise we don’t need to add players but if we find a special player we’ll take him."

On Davids (pictured), he added: “Again there is no real truth behind that. There are a lot of players on the market. We have a big squad and we’ll look for maybe just one addition.”

GOOD, Dacourt is shit. I wouldnt have mided Davids for a year though, he worked wonders for Barca two seasons back and we lack a bit of experience in midfield. But Wnger will rely on youth :S

Both players are older than Vieria and would hardly seem a progression for the team!!!

Yes but if we get one or two injuries we are fucked. Last year edu and gilberto were out we still had vieira and lets face it we were fucked. Now we don't have vieira and edu...what if gilberto was to get injured ... flamini and fabregas? Thats giving other teams a chance.

Helb and Pires can play in central midfield. If Gilberto gets injured, Flamini can take his place. If both are injured, it's just pure bad luck.

I think we are getting to the stage that we want Wenger to buy anyone just to boost the squad, which is clearly the wrong route to go down. Le Boss has always done his transfers quickly and quietly (Baptista excluded obviously) and dont be surprised if he buys somebody that has not even been mentioned this summer. On the Bap saga, the Guardian reckons that although he is eligable to apply for Spanish citizenship in August, it can take up to 8 months to be processed. NICE!!!

true, he has unearthed some amazing players, but also brought in Kaba Diawara, Jeffers, and P Cygan. Lets hope we dont see the like of those again

soot-lover I spent years at Highbury watching very shit players playing very shit football in front of very shit crowds, so please dont even try to chastise Wenger for making the odd mistake. I think you'll find it a bi-product of managing a team that cannot compete financially with the likes of United and Chelsea and has therefore to unearth unknown gems. Try not to forget that the only reason we can afford higher transfer fees now is because of his success and money generated from his astuteness in the transfer market i.e Petit, Overmars, Anelka, Vieira = 67 mio.
