any team would dramatically miss their inspiration! in our case over the last few years, that has been PV! TH is the prince, a TRUE world class player, who we all love having in our team! but when we needed someone to deal with a troublesome midfielder (where the game is usually won or lost) TH was not the man who the team looked to (rightly so), that player was PV. how many times have we started our devastating counter-attacks from interceptions or tackles he made? but i think our real problem stemmed from losing edu as well, put simply… apply it to our nearest challengers:
if the west london scum lost maka and lampard… different team!
if the northern scum lost keane and scholes… different team!
if liverpool lost gerrard and alonso… different team!
alas, they are gone now, and once wenger lost out on his summer targets and refused to sign over-priced replacements , most of us knew we would find it difficult!
as much faith as i've got in our young boys in the middle, they are obviously no direct replacements for players of PV and EDUs callabre! so we ARE in the middle of an adapting period! so far as we expected, fabregas has performed wonders! taking into account who and what he has to try and take over from.
and for that reason, along with the likes of flamini, van persie, reyes, hleb… i find it really difficult to accept what i'm seeing from the more experienced boys, especially PIRES! in regards to their nurturing and leading by example on and off the pitch!
i can't stress enough how well i think we've done considering the talent that has left us in the last two seasons (6 players that could walk into most teams out there… PARLOUR, KEOWN, KANU, WILTORD, EDU, VIERA!) think about it guys!
there's no doubt, if we are to truly challenge this season and beyond wenger needs to pull 1-2 players out the hat. if anything to regain the confidence and presence we had on the field.

we were there and that's where we need to get back to. because everybody still knows it… WE PLAY THE BEST FOOTBALL IN THE COUNTRY!
but playing beautiful football and winning games is becoming more and more a difficult thing to achieve!
because where teams were once coming and trying to play us! they now adopt the stiffling 4-5-1 system! a system some people are saying we need a plan b to overcome??
i'm not so sure if it's something as drastic as a plan b that's needed, but something more of a different option to call on! because let's face it, the football world is now aware of our style and have set their stalls out to try and stop us before playing their own game!
