Bentley's Off
David Bentley is to leave Arsenal after having had his transfer request accepted;
"I will let him go," said AW.
"It's a bit of the risk you take when you send a player out on loan and he gets the taste of what it's like to play every week in the Premier League.
"He comes back and thinks it will not be easy to play the same number of games this season as last season. Then he comes impatient and a bit nervous about the situation.
"I understand that as David Bentley is a flank player or a second striker.
"In these positions, we have Robert Pires, Jose Antonio Reyes, Alexander Hleb, Freddie Ljungberg, Robin van Persie and Dennis Bergkamp."

the boy is no rooney, he's very good but not world class, he should be allowed to leave for his own career, lets hope we don't regret it in 2-3 years, like we did when we let Upson go, who'd swap him for Cygan ???? personally I'm swap a bag of hammers for Cygan.
If he is impatient, and understandbly he is now that he got taste of regular first time football, then by all means let him go and good luck to him.
In my opinion, we should have kept him until the january transfer window, get him involved in a few games meanwhile to raise his profile and get a decent fee for him.
To be fair to him, he is a good english player but he is fighting for places against the best youngsters in France, Spain and Holland..
If Upson had stayed he would have got his chances when the time was right (ala Senderos). Let's hope that Bentley doesn't end up regretting his own impatience. Good luck the the guy anyway!
yea i wish we wud have kept upson...man hate to see cygan in the team...egghead prick...i bet even his wife won't keep him in her team...wonder why arsene's keeping him held !!
its a shame he is promising but good luck to the lad
Upson is fucking shite. England centre back my arse. good riddance to him i reckon.
It's a shame to sell Bentley, I think he has a lot of potential. Usually i wouldn't second guess Wenger's decision, but thesedays who knows. Vieira's gone, Edu's gone, Cole probably off next summer, we simply don't seem to care anymore?
Who knows, maybe Henry will be sold next summer, before he gets too old and his price falls...
I think Bentley could never make the grade at Arsenal. He's very good technically, but he is very mediocre physically - not enough pace or strength to really make an impact.
AW has got this one wrong, like Upson. But what do you expect, there English! If they were foreign he would have kept them.

Is it true you are too scared to go to away matches?
