TH14: "....I Was Determined to Help the Team"

After Tuesday night's game against Sparta Prague Titi revealed that he has been desperate to help pull the team out of our early season rut.

"I had so much anger that I needed to help the team," said TH14.

"That's what I'm there for and I think I answered people who questioned whether I had the desire to play for Arsenal.

"Every time I wear the shirt I play with my heart and total commitment.

"I watched the team and I was biting my nails.

"It's hard when you see an opportunity when you think you can hit the back of the net and you're not there - it's very frustrating.

"I love to play football and all of the time I was just biting my nails.

"It was painful because I just want to be out there, helping the team."

"I wasn't even meant to travel and I didn't feel ready," Thierry continued.

"But it's strange because sometimes you feel ready and you're not.

"Football is a strange sport, that's why we love it so much, but as soon as I stepped on to the pitch I was determined to give my best.

"I thought about pacing myself but I sprinted straight away, which was a bit crazy because I hadn't warmed up properly.

"The boss just told me to keep on running when I was on the pitch and that's what I did.

"Fortunately I didn't injure myself, I was determined to help the team."

Other reports coming out this morning say that we have been linked to Fernando 'El Nino' Torres....he would be a fantastic acquisition in my opinion.

Exactly Rae....JAR came off the bench when Spain played the other day and set up both goals for Torres...

Even Wenger now realises his huge mistake in not signing at least 2/3 top players before the start of this season to boost the inexperienced young squad and, more importantly,to ensure that our important players like Henri and Campbell feel that Arsenal are still an ambitious club with the potential to win the large prizes - which at the moment seems to be fading away - fast.January will be a very important month for the club to show their future intent. Two top players (CM and CF)must be bought - especially now we know the money is avilable!!

torres will come in to replace henry who'll go to barca.

I hope Torres does come in - but not at the expense of Henry.

I've also heard that Torres has a huge buy-out clause in his contract...in excess of 20M euros...dunno how much truth there is in that though.

theres probably a lot of truth in that Nyssie. Buy out clauses are a very common thing in Spain and can be ludicrous amounts of money. If his is only in the regoion of 20M euros, then we should go for him. I still think we need a more direct striker to give us another element, but anyway...

hi guys i have been watching torres a long time and he can score goals that even henry cant, he could be brought in to show henry that we mean business rather than a replacement, he is more of an out and out striker for henry, and we could play henry and torres up front, reyes on the left hleb on the right and not upset the balance or style of play we have now, i really beleive that he would be an adition to the sqaud not a replacement for henry

he has a 15 million pound buy out clause as well, we apparantly bid for him after the baptista debacle but he wanted to stay 1 more year in spain at his beloved atletico, they are in no position to turn down a bid either as they are 40 mill in debt,

11:45 AM
Blogger NyssietheGooner said...

I hope we can get him....as you say serge - he would be more of a compliment to Thierry than a replacement...

£15 million seems a reasonable price for a player of his quality and nothing like some of the outrageous buy out clauses that are slapped on some players these days. A strike force of Henry, Torres and van Persie with Lupoli and Bentdner given time to mature would do nicely!

nyssie he is the plan b we need strong in the air and on the ground very mobile and both footed he will stay up front and pick up the pieces, i think there is a lot of truth in the speculation as reyes is his best pal and like joaquin has already turned down chelsea

If there's any truth in it then let's hope the fact that there is speculation about the transfer hasn't already doomed it to failure.

I remember after the closing day of the Transfer Window,AW talked of a striker he almost signed but didnt mention the name.
Can it be that Torres is the man if we did bid for him as reports say?

Being Anonymous is being GAY

Hiding your identity is fearing rejection.

Lamenting on the past is living in the GG days,we're in AW's days.

Calling someone who takes peace to say SORRY is being ridiculous.

You can peace OFF this forum.

Bringing in these two spaniards and add to what we have already minus titi leaving would be what any manager would love to have at his disposal.

I only worry, how the press would make the best use of it,talking of how we have changed from France to Espanyol dynasty.but who cares,as long as Arsenal wins am happy.

I would add to my fantacy team Mascherano..ARG, plus some Brazilian blood.

Nyssie,Those stories keep popping up about him with LIV,just as i suspect it is about Torres, few days back Reyes talked of this lad, days later he is linked,I think its more of paper work than reality.

Jack i would agree with you more but i would love some more Brazil in there especially for CM or Up front,
i havent trusted any CB's from this part of the continent apart from Lucio.

Brazil's national team doesn't need defenders, just as well really as they are all shit. I know that is a bit of a generalisation but it has been true for as long as I can remember. Strange though considering the Other big S.A team Argentina have a very good defence.

torres top draw, joaquim has 1 good game in 3 he is not consistent enough although when he is top of his game he is more than capable of playing for a top team, as for bedneter he is not ready to play for us yet but he is a very good prospect in a few seasons he will be ready.
