Real After Bob?

Real Madrid are rumoured to be lining up a bid for Bobby Pires, surely this is total bollocks.

Anyone else heard anything?

i heard that arsenal are ready to give pires a free transfer so to save on his 3.5 million pound wages a year, which i find astounding how are we going to keep up with chelsea when we are scrimping and saving?to let our second best scorer go on a free because we don't want to give him a 3 year deal is crazy,i feel he still has 2 years min left in him

I would be sad to see such a prolific midfield goalscorer leave, but if he was to leave who would you replace him with?

My own view is that if he left we should move for either Valencia's Vicente, or Florent Malouda of Lyon. Imagine juggling the left wing between Vicente and Reyes. That would be immense. Pires and Reyes aint half bad either though...

If you see all the reports that Guti wants to join and Real want Bobby P. Is a swap on the cards?

Hope not, it would be a rubbish deal for us as we don't need players like Guti. If we signed him explicitly as a back up player than i would accept it, but in exchange for Pires would be a joke of a deal.

we've offered Pires a 2 year deal. He wants 3. Really, I think he should accept 2 years, and Arsenal should give him 2 years on the same terms he's got now. He scored, what, 18 goals last season, and was the 3rd top Prem scorer. If he did go, the only compensation would be to sign Guti AND someone like Vicente or Malouda.

Pires wants to go to Spain and Real Madrid needs reinforcements for their left flank. The only thing that would stop this transfer as i see it is that Real President Perez has made a promise. That at least one of the new players for the upcoming season would be from spain. And from what i have heard there has been a lot of interest in Deportivos Luque and that could let Pires stay in Arsenal.
