What's Going On With Ash?

Reports are coming out stating that Ash's contract extension is merely to buy the board more time to convince him not to leave.

"We have got time to consider it again if he wants to go," said Peter Hill-Wood

Reports out earlier today state that Ash may leave for Real Madrid next summer, and that the board offered the 12 month extension only to make sure his value doesn't depreciate too much before then.

Sell him!
That way we can snatch £10-15 millions from Real and still have potentially the best left back in the game: Clichy.

Despite that Ash acted like a prick during this whole thing. You feel the board acted very unprofessionally and i question their judgment. They now agreed to 70K a week, when a couple of months ago Ash would have signed a long term deal worth 60k a week. The board acted ridiculous on this one and i think he'll leave next season.

to be honest, i think its a sensible move by the board. Theyve obviously not had a bid for cole from any club this summer and probably know fully well that Cole will want to leave. So instead of letting him go cheap next year theyve tieed him down for another year therefore forcing any interested clubs to pay top dollar for him. Anyway, if Wenger and the board get their act togetether and sign the Beast and a keeper, whats to say the gunners wont have a superb season, and then maybe Cole will stay and its a win win situation.

We will see what happens in the next season. It may well be that Clichy ends up being better, but sooner or later Arsenal need to stop selling all of their best players for kids to fill in....Especially if we are going to be this 'big' club because right now, I have my serious doubts about going into next season (granted we have a month and a half until the window closes) because we have even less depth that last year.

sell him now before he becomes a 2nd choice left-back next season. Clichy is getting better and Cole worse.

why does everybody question what the club are doing? Under M.Wenger we have won more trophies than ever and we have yet to finish below 2nd under his stewardship.

Stop it, you'll see - and I promise you you will not be disappointed.

Don't blame the Board... Both Ash and Viera tried to screw Arsenal thats why they are out on their arses... Re: ANR (Baptista for 15 Mill) I saw Patricks photo shots at the Juve press conf. The man was shocked....

Just remember that this board has done us proud for such a long time, (If you don't think so look at Spurs, I rest my case) only Manu has got a better board (ala Kenyon b4 and the new guy..) I'm tired of the Players treating my Team and Board like their wives..

Point 2: Ash is in for a big shock, man thinks he's gotten a good deal? We all know he and Ferdinand are greedy bastards (120K? Bitch please...) I really don't feel sorry for Manu, since he's a serial trollup (Leeds) But Ash, man that boy does'nt know how good he's got it, until your on the overside of the fence....

Let's respect TH14 now that's loyalty, lets all expect the same from all our squad....

Point 3: P7, can't really complain BK10 has been on yearly contracts for some time now... the policy of the club is clear... (Also to benefit our club) AW buy's youngsters at 15-17yrs because it's not going to be possible for Arsenal to pay 15Mil a season on quality players. (Thats why those copy cat wife stealing bastards from Kings road...) tapped up Spurs for A ... just look at the spending over the last 3 seasons +300 Million pounds (most 3rd world countries get to spend in a decade) the Q, is that can they spend like this for ever? listen our biggest asset is the Board and AW they go and we go... Fuck all those who don't love the Shirt... Ash can pack it in to Real fuck if I care , clichy is the man, trust me that boy has skills. Fabregas is our future (10 Unbeaten) before Manu and thats because of PV4.

Be cool....

Ps: I think that we should pay 17 Mill for Baptista (Rolando, Adriano worth 30 Mill apiece..) this boy sounds like the truth.... Jenas is not worth 20Mill and wenger knows it, thats why SWP could only go to the ruskies... They could only be arrogant and blind to that fact because they know that if SWP came to Highbury, they would not be able to stop arsenal. We need balance on the wings R/Side needs a creative and dynamic winger to stretch the oppositions defense... SWP would have thrived...

THERE ARE SOME GOONERS OUT THERE WHO
NEED TO GET THEIR F****** PRIORITISE RIGHT!
ASHLEY COLE'S SITUATION, AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED, IS THE LEAST OF OUR WORRIES!!!

LAST YEAR WE LOST FOUR QUALITY, EXPERIENCED PLAYERS: PARLOUR, WILT, KANU AND KEOWN!
THIS YEAR WE'VE LOST TWO MORE: EDU, VIERA!
6 PLAYERS WHO COULD WALK INTO MOST TEAMS OUT THERE TO THIS DAY!!

YES SOME OF THOSE SALES WERE NECESSARY! BUT MY BEEF WITH OUR WAY OF DOING THINGS LATELY IS OUR RELUCTANCE TO JUST SORT A DEAL OUT MORE RUTHLESSLY WHEN ITS OBVIOUSLY NEEDED!

OFCOURSE THERE'S FACTORS INVOLVED THAT MOST TIMES WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT; AGENTS, WAGES, THE STADIUM! ETC. BUT SOONER OR LATER EVEN KING WENGER IS GOING TO NEED TO HAVE THE POWER TO GO AND GET WHO HE WANTS, NO QUESTIONS ASKED!

LAST SEASON WAS THE FIRST TIME I'VE HAD ANY REASON TO QUESTION LE GODS CHOICES (KEEPING BOBBY IN THE TEAM AT TIMES TO NAME ONE)

BUT 1) WITH THOSE SIX CLASS PLAYERS GONE IN TWO SEASONS! 2) OUR SEASON LONG TARGET 'THE BEAST' DECIDING TO STAY IN SPAIN! 3) OUR HARDEST PLAYER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PARK GONE (LOVE GILBERTO, BUT HE'S GOT HIS OWN JOB, WHICH HE DOES FANTASICALLY!) 4) HLEB AN ATTACKING WIDE PLAYER OUR ONLY SIGNING SO FAR! I THINK ASH IS THE LAST THING WE SHOULD BE WASTING OUR TIMES TALKING ABOUT!

I WILL ALWAYS HAVE FAITH IN LE BOSS AND THE MIGHTY GUNNERS, BUT REMEMBER, WHEN WE STILL HAD PAT AND EDU, MOST PEOPLE THOUGHT, INCLUDING MYSELF, THAT ALTHOUGH WE'VE GOT THE BEST YOUNGSTERS AROUND ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD COMING THROUGH; WE STILL NEEDED TWO OR THREE PLAYERS! MAYBE A DEFENDER! A RIGHT MIDFIELDER AND ANOTHER BIG STRIKER ALL IN THE 23-27 AGE BRACKET (AS WENGER HIMSELF SAID).

THAT'S 3 SIGNINGS!

SO FAR WE'VE SOLD TWO AND BOUGHT 1! THAT MEANS WE HAVE TO MAKE FOUR SIGNINGS TO PUT US WHERE WE WANTED TO BE ONLY A FEW MONTHS AGO
DOESN'T IT?

I FOR ONE AM NOT CLAPPING!!!

THAT MEANS

ASH IS A TOTAL PRICK AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN SHOWN THE DOOR BY NOW BUT WENGER WILL NOT STAND UP TO THE PLAYERS AND TRIES TO PLACATE THEM INSTEAD. SAME OLD ARSENAL EVERY YEAR...SELLING BIG PLAYERS AND REPLACING THEM WITH POTENTIAL PLAYERS AND ALL THE TIME THE SQUAD GETS SMALLER (and thats without the prospect of sol leaving 2). WE NEED A PLAYER LIKE BALLACK TO SHOW OUR PLAYERS, OUR FANS, ANY POTENTIAL SIGNINGS AND THE WORLD THAT WE ARE NOT A SELLING CLUB. BUY QUALITY NOW WENGER FOR FUCKS SAKE OR ELSE THE DYNASTY WILL BE OVER VERY QUICKLY

SETTLE DOWN. Keown was past it; now we have Senderos. Kanu or RvP? Wiltord or Hleb? Parlour or Cesc? Ok, Edu and Vieira are a bit of a blow, but I'm confident le boss will replace them. The sky is not falling. The squad is too small right now, but there's a month left in the transfer season. Understand you're disappointed, but now is not the time to panic.

Im bitterly disappointed we seem set to miss out on the Beast, he would have been an immense signing for NOW and the FUTURE. As regards to Ballack, he is 29 soon and i cannot see Wenger splashing the cash on a player he would soon be offering 1 year extension deals to...
We are now being re-linked to Guti, but he would be a nothing signing for us and I hope Wenger leaves that well alone. We do need an EXPERIENCED PHYSICAL midfielder to take PV4's place, but we have a couple of weeks in which to sign one, so it is not time to get overly worried, although the clock is ticking and the sooner we sign someone the better.
Lets not forget we also need a goalkeeper. We cant rely on Lemon and Almoronia all year, last yr showed that. I just hope Arsene isnt in Austria right now thinking, 'this squad is good enough to challenge Chelsea', because it is definitely not.

This has been a dreadful summer for the club so far, starting with Cole being a greedy twat, then RVP getting arrested, Pires contract talks up in the air, Vieira leaving and now seemingly missing out on the Beast. Not many more things can go wrong, lets have some good news now Gunners, come on.

Reminds me of summer 03, when we signed only Clichy and Lehmann at the last minute and everyone was writing us off. Granted, that was just the start of Abramovich's empire, but Manure made some splashy signings that summer, were overwhelming favorites, and look where they ended up. Le boss isn't going to let this dynasty crumble before our move to Ashburton Grove. ARSENE KNOWS.
