Beast Going Barca?
I'm getting fed up with all this...Story from Teamtalk.com....
Sevilla striker Julio Cesar Baptista has refused to rule out a move to champions Barcelona after confirming that he will be staying in the Primera Liga next season.
The Brazil international turned down the chance to join Arsenal last week as a move to Highbury would have jeopardised his chances of gaining Spanish citizenship and the subsequent benefits of being an EU passport holder.
Spurs are also believed to be an admirer of the forward, but the 23-year-old seems certain to stay in Spain.
"I am not discarding anything, all is possible," Baptista said when asked about the possibility of a move to Barca.
"My agent and I are clear on what is important and that is to have an EU passport.
"I have just one year to go before I stop being a foreigner. I need to remain here one year longer in Spain and after that I will think about what to do.
"I know of the interest from Arsenal, they had in mind to make a proposal to Sevilla and they talked to my agent, but what happens has to be of benefit to both sides."
Baptista is an admirer of Barca's style of play and the skills of compatriot Ronaldinho.
"Barca is a great club, everyone knows about the way they play and you have to congratulate them for that," Baptista added.
"They have formed a great team with great players like Ronnie (Ronaldinho). With the quality of Ronnie it is very easy to play next to him."
Baptista, nicknamed 'the beast' in Spain, also admits that Sevilla's failure to clinch a Champions League place last season was a blow to his aspirations.
"This year I would have liked a lot for the team to qualify for the Champions League but it did not happen," he said.
"At the moment I am fine at Sevilla but I have to think about myself and consider the teams that are interested in me."
