Samir Nasri Lets Us Know

This lad is supposed to be good. I mean really good. I've heard people referring to him as the next Zidane. Story courtesy of skysports.com...

Samir Nasri has alerted Arsenal and other Premiership clubs to his possible availability by turning down a new contract at Marseille.

Although insisting he does not want to repeat Mathieu Flamini's actions last season, the young midfielder admits he has been unable to come to an agreement with l'OM over fresh terms.

Flamini pushed for a move to Highbury and the transfer eventually had to go the French authorities as Marseille demanded compensation for the midfielder.

"I haven't prolonged [my contract] so far," the 18-year-old playmaker said from the Aix-les-Bains training camp. "Because we didn't find any agreement with l'OM.

"We are at a standstill.

"They explained to us that, considering the club's present situation, the wages will be limited this season.

"My wish is to stay at Marseille.

"Anyway, I am still under contract and I am a little young to leave.

"I don't want to make a new Flamini case.

"But, so far, the Marseille proposals don't suit us."

Newcastle United, Liverpool and Chelsea are also aware of Nasri's outstanding potential but the schemer is under contract until 2007.

i first heard of homeboy in world soccer magazine. they say hes the second coming of zidane. they made him sound better than flamini, who i dont think has done that great for us yet. seems he has the flair that flamini lacks. the way i see it, we either have holding midfielders (viera, gilberto) and flair midfielders (pires, fabregas). not sure which one flamini is, or hleb for that matter. i say swap flamini for nasri if possible. but get him either way.

Flamini is a work horse in the gilverto mode. Hleb is a flair player, he like to take the ball and dribble with it, he created the most assists by any player in the bundasliga last year.

Viera and FAB are play makers, Viera seems increasingly unreliable in chasing back.
Flamini is a good squad player when we are protecting a lead in the final stages he has bags of energy and doesnt shirk a tackle.

I have seen Nasri play a few times and he is a real gem of a player in the making. It would be a coup if we could get him, but i dont think that will happen as we have very strained realtions with marsallie. sad but as we say...

"WENGER KNOWS" ;-))))

Is he really calling or holding out for a betta deal?...Flamini got an Arsenal heart he shows the fight and he doesn't need to have the flair, he will learn alot off Gilberto! Nasri is v.good and he is the flip of the coin...but I won't hold my breath on this one coming!

Matty Flamini is going to be a superb player. He won't get the most assists or goals, but covers so much ground going either way, is strong and brave in the tackle and has a lot of class.

There, you can watch this guy in action. I've been tracking this guy since he was 15, and I wont say he's the next Zidane:
1 - He doesnt play anything like Zidane, he's more of a winger who penetrate defence wit his penetrating dribble and pace.
2 - He doesnt have the touch of Zidane, and will never have.
I don't think there's such thing as the next Zidane, but if there is 1 player who have the similar play style, body movement and footballing brain, its Hatem Ben Arfa.
