Sevilla Accuse Us of Tapping Up 'The Beast'
By the looks of things Seville really don't want to lose Baptista. Story from itv.com....
Just months after leading the criticism of Chelsea in the wake of their illegal approach for full-back, the Gunners have been accused of holding talks with Baptista without formal permission from Seville.
Club president Jose Maria Del Nido insists that Arsene Wenger’s talks with the striker last week in Brazil constituted a clear breach of FIFA guidelines.
"Arsenal have not been given permission to have contact with the player," Del Nido said. "If they have done this, they have acted outside the regulations laid down by FIFA."
Baptista himself had earlier commented: "Wenger wanted to get to know me as a person and spoke to me about Arsenal and his team."
Arsenal are still pursuing Baptista, and are set to raise their bid for the 23-year-old to around the £12m figure.
The player himself has rejected the Spanish outfit's latest contract offer, and it would appear that he has his sights set on a move to the Gunners.
But with Del Nido's latest accusations, his proposed transfer to the Premiership could become a very messy affair.

I did think it was odd that AW's trip to brazil was such public knowledge before Sevilla had agreed a fee, but assumed the Arsenal had permission from the club.
I do not think Sevilla would have made a fuss about this if Baptista had not said he had met AW. It is one thing for AW to be in Brazil, another for the player to have acknowledged contact. Sevilla was really left with no choice. They have their fans to think about and cannot be seen as a soft touch on the prize assets. But Arsenal may still get their man.
Lets hope so!!! ;o)
