Adebayor Still Might Leave Monaco

Story courtesy of skysports.com.....

Monaco striker Emmanuel Adebayor has stated he would be interested in a move away from Stade Louis II, should he not get a suitable contract extension.

The Togolese hit-man is flattered to have received interest from Arsenal, Marseille and Paris Saint Germain for his services.

The 21-year-old in still under contract until 2008 with the Principality club, having been the subject of bids from The Gunners and Toulouse in recent times.

The former Metz player was also linked with a move to Everton during the January transfer window, but Monaco boss Didier Deschamps is determined to keep the African marksman in his squad for the forthcoming Ligue 1 campaign.

With his future seemingly uncertain, Adebayor is keen to clear up his future and wants to meet with Monaco officials soon.

"I want respect - I have propositions from great and ambitious clubs and Monaco has to understand that," Adebayor told But.

"Marseille, PSG and Arsenal are prestigious clubs. I feel they trust me.

"A departure remains a possibility. I have no preferences between staying in France or trying an adventure in England with Arsenal.

"I am waiting to meet my officials to know more. I only had phone calls with them, but it has been positive.

"It is obvious we have to change something in my contract. When a player is not happy with his situation, then he can say it.

"In such a case, it is useless to keep him against his will."
