In defence there’s Djourou, Senderos, Campbell, Toure, Cole, Clichy, Flamini plus Hoyte coming back. In midfield, Gilberto, Fabregas, Hleb, Rosicky, Ljungberg, Flamini who can still play there and Reyes. Up front as well we have plenty of players too.
“Remember we have players at the World Cup who have not featured for us.”
“I would be comfortable yes [if we brought in no one else] but you never know, we might go for somebody else if the right occasion comes along. There are one or two positions we can still strengthen.”

hey, good to know hoyte is coming back. i think AW will use the world cup as his shopping mall. he did get a good deal in gilberto in the last one so let's wait...
Before last season started, i post a comment that Arsenal will struggle with those current players. This season, i think Arsenal have improved. but i still think Arsenal is not BIG enough to challenge for the EPL. Their midfield although technically good, but still weak. If Arsenal go into 2006/2007 with the current players, i think they will get 2nd place. Arsenal still need BIG players to fit the BIG stadium. My wish, replace Adebayor with Zlatan, Ljungberg with Ribery, one hard tackler in, one world class central defender, one world class keeper. Arsenal BIG stadium doesnt reflect current players! I hope Arsene current comment is a smokescreen. Yes, it is.

Am I the only one who noticed Lauren wasn`t mentioned amongst our defenders? Hope hes not leaving...
My concern is that we need som english blood in our team! Hope we get Davies and SWP! I think I`d also like to see Isaksson, Kahlenberg and/or Diarra. The hideously scarred Ribery could be a gunner next season..(cause hes french and wenger`s french and Henry`s french and Clichy`s french and Flamini`s french and Dein`s probably pretending to be)
Anyway...all hail Wengerinho! He knows what he does!
We're seriously weak in midfield on the tough-tackling side. This must be sorted if we're to challenge in the EPL. Yaya Toure would be good, Diarra, or even the return of PV4!
I think Wenger is really hoping to bring in one more world-class player, and maybe one or two youngsters. Anyway, I'm not going to throw names, cause I believe Wenger knows nearly every good player in the world, which is more than we do. Whoever he brings, it will probably be good business. Unless it's the next Nelson Vivas.
Btw, even if we strengthen the squad, I'll be content with 2nd place next season. I'm counting on the 2007-8 season to be our season.

Last season we were awful in the premiership only scrapping into fourth on the last day of the season, we were not good enough in any cup competition proven by the fact we didnt win any of them & from that squad we have lost two players so far (pires & bergkamp) & another two quite clearly want to leave (campbell & cole), we have brought rosicky in to replace two players & yet suddenly wenger sees us as being good enough to win the league against a team who has brought in shevchenko, ballack & obi mikel & who have won the league at a canter for the past two seasons. In those two seasons we have managed to beat only one top team (liverpool on two occasions both at home) but lost most of the other games with the odd draw added in. I must be mad but I just dont see this quality that he keeps on about!!

Happy with the current squad? It's not like Arsenal finished 24 points behind Chelsea (who lost their last two games so it should have been 30) or scraped into the CL ahead of Sp*rs.
Just as a good FA Cup run convinced him we were good enough at the end of 2005, the CL run has had the same effect. You don't win titles or challenge consistently by being able to win the odd game here and there.
We're light right down the spine - we need a striker, someone in central midfield, a central defender as Senderos and Campbell are both injury-prone and in my view a 'keeper. Mad Jens had a good run at the end of the season, but he is still likely to give us moments that cost us in big games - e.g. that free-kick v Wigan and the final against Barcelona.

you're forgetting that from last season we'll also have back cole, sol, lauren, clichy and theo.
I think Theo will be a great contribution going forward this coming season. At least I hope so, but I won`t bet my salary on it. I`m sure wengerinho will buy a cb and maybe a cdm (he should) who can deliver a couple of deadly crosses and in the same time hold the midfield together! We need a taklerinho! btw: Kahlberg is not a forward...hes a right midfielder!!! weehoo worldcup coming up:D
