Sir Trev Hails Young Guns

Trevor Brooking has stated that the rise of Cesc Fabregas and Matthieu Flamini may persuade Arsenal's hierarchy to cash in on Paddy.

“I don’t know if I’m surprised Patrick Vieira might be leaving. The rumours about him going have been around for a few seasons now. When they began again you hoped it would not be another drawn-out saga,” said the Football Association’s director of football development.

“But now it looks like it might be the right decision long-term if Arsenal get the money they want.

"Patrick was very good in the second half of last season but his form dipped before that.

“If they do sell, I’m sure Arsene knows who he wants to invest the money in. He will look to strengthen the squad overall – I don’t think it will be spent on one player.

“He already has two outstanding youngsters in Flamini and Fabregas. Whether he feels they are ready to take over in the midfield remains to be seen.”

What do you think...are Cesc and Matthieu ready for the big time?

It might be the right time to move on as far as AFC as a team is concerned. It might also be time for the change of guards. Search your memory and you'll remember that we did well when PV was away and started losing when he returned to the team.

And while Gillbo was away we lost enough points but when he returned we did'nt. This sugests that PV is not to AFC what he used to be and to be honest I think I loved team's performance when Gillbo partnered Cesc.

Chances are also that PV may also need something new to get him fired up.
