Calderon: "I Think Reyes Is Going To Stay Here Forever"
Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has revealed that he wants to keep Jose Antonio Reyes at the Bernabeu permanently...but he is unsure as to the future of Julio Baptista.
"I think Reyes is going to stay here forever. My idea is to sign a contract for six or seven years." said Calderon.
"It's true, at that time (of concluding the deals), it was very difficult to decide what to do because Baptista wanted to leave Real and Reyes wanted to leave Arsenal."
"We did that at the last minute and did that in a way with the loan, with an option to buy."
"Both clubs can buy the player, paying an amount we've already fixed.
"I'm quite sure Reyes is going to stay here, but I don't know what's going to happen with Baptista."
"It's something the coach has to decide. My intention, which I said in my campaign, is I am not going to interfere with what the coach is going to do.
"This case depends on what's going to happen at the end of the season."

Interesting; I didn't know that there was a fixed price with which the players could leave. Thus come May if the club is happy and Baptista's happy then he signs permanently. Nice. Also nice that the fiends at Real are prepared to pay us for Jose the Diving Muppet.
Anyone else positively wetting themselves at the prospect of the next three games? Tough luck anyone who missed out on Charlton...
