Paris Here We Come!

FUCK ME! I don't remember seeing such a woeful performance by the boys for a long time. BUT, who cares?!? WE'RE IN THE FINAL OF THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE!

Not a very eventful game - until the 88th minute when the softest of penalties was awarded to Villarreal. Up steps Riquelme, my heart was in my mouth...I could not believe what had just happened.

He shoots - Lehmann saves!

Me, my dad and two of my mates go beserk!

By the time the final whistle blew we were all exhausted. I can't really put into words how happy I am! Anyway, here's what Le Boss had to say post match...

"It looked like a generous penalty decision but then I said to myself that if it is our year, Jens will save it.

"I knew he had strength of character, and I knew he would not be beaten easily and there was a lot of pressure on Riquelme and fatigue.

"I felt he just wanted to hit the target and not put it in a corner because he was scared to miss.

"It comes down to psychological reason and Jens guessed right.

Overall it was more of a poker game than good training."

"I am pleased because when a guy shows professionalism and a winning attitude, you always want him to be rewarded.

"When I think where he started when he came to England, and the steps he has made since, he deserved a lot of credit."

If you keep a clean sheet away from home in a CL semi, you can't have played that bad. Yes we were shite in attack, but they didn't make a huge amount of chances themselves. The penalty was nonesense and without that Jens only had to make 1 save.

WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
