Edu Gets the Hump
Edu has hit out at Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger over his treatment during his final season at Highbury.
The Brazilian midfielder, who recently joined Valencia on a free transfer, believes Wenger deliberately froze him out of the first-team picture because he refused to sign a new contract.
"When you play for a great team there will always be competition," Edu told Valencia's official website.
"I am here to battle and I will do everything possible to always play.
"I have had an odd season with Arsenal. As I had played in the Copa America I arrived two months late, then I got injured and then came the possibility to join Valencia in the winter.
"My situation was a bit bad because Arsene Wenger put a lot of pressure on me and kept me out a little because I did not want to sign a new contract (with Arsenal)."
Edu started just six Premiership games for the Gunners last season, with a further four starts coming in cup competitions.
